CORONAVIRUS AND PRESCRIPTIONS
Due to COVID 19 you will no longer be able to come to the practice to collect paper prescriptions. Instead these will now be sent electronically to your nominated pharmacy. If you haven't advised us of your chosen pharmacy please ring any of the practice telephone numbers so your records can be updated, otherwise we will send your presecription to a Lawsat Pharmacy closest to you, where possible. Please note this WON'T apply to patients who use the Dispensing service at Cliffe.
You will receive a tear-off slip with each prescription if you take medication regularly. Please use this slip to request repeat medication. Tick the items you need and return the slip to the surgery.
Use the repeat slip attached to the prescription or put your request in writing, as we do not take request for medication over the telephone.
We also offer you the ability to order your repeat prescriptions online. Please use the link at the top of this page to take advantage of this service (registration required).
Please be aware that guidance has been issued by NHS Medway Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) to all GP practices which states the recommendation of issuing no more than 28 days (1 month) supply of medication. This ensures legal, safe and effective clinical use of medicines and also helps to eliminate waste.
Please allow a minimum of three working days (72 hours) for your prescription to be ready. This is excluding the day the request is received by the practice.
Pharmacies will have individual turn around times for collection of medication. You are advised to check with your nominated pharmacy for more information.

Dispensary at Cliffe surgery
Cliffe patients can obtain their medication from the dispensary at Cliffe Surgery but again please give us plenty of time to process it for you. To be on the safe side you can submit your request up 10 working days before you need it but we do ask at the very least a minimum of 3 working days please. Our dispensary team will always try to help out in an emergency but as you can appreciate we couldn't sustain this if everyone left it until they ran out.
The dispensary is open for queries from 0800-1300 daily from Monday to Friday however it is closed in the afternoons. Alternatively, you can email firstname.lastname@example.org
Routine medication is available for collection from reception from 0800-1300 and 1430-1800 Monday to Friday with the exception of Wednesdays when the surgery is closed.
Prescriptions issued by GPs in the afternoons will be processed and available the following day by the dispensary team or alternatively patients can take their prescription to a pharmacy of their choice.
Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip.
